To help you successfully complete your educational goals, you are expected to contact your faculty advisor to schedule a face-to-face appointment before your registration time.

Advising is required. You are expected to meet with your assigned advisor at least one time each academic quarter until you have successfully completed 30 college level credits.
Check your Advising Syllabus located in your new student orientation packet
Advising is required for at least one quarter after your initial return to YVCC providing you have NOT met the 30 college level credit criteria for new students.
If this has not been met, you should meet with their advisors on a regular basis to ensure your educational goals are being met.
Advising is expected for at least one quarter with the new advisor after the major/program has been officially changed in Registration providing you have successfully completed 30 college level credits.
If this has not been met, the guidelines for new students would apply.
